In April we are welcoming Martin Charlesworth. He will serve part time in the content department.

Martin has worked over the years as a teacher, in business, as a church leader and, more recently, with a variety of Christian charities. He has lived for many years in Shrewsbury in the UK. He is married to Jane and has three children and a growing number of grandchildren.

Martin is the founder of the Jubilee+ charity ( https://jubilee-plus.org/) which seeks to equip churches in the UK in their social action. He is the co-author of three books on this theme. He handed over leadership of Jubilee+ in 2021.

Martin’s international perspective has been shaped by spending his childhood in Pakistan, working in South Africa in the late 1970s and his involvement a variety of international charitable projects, especially with churches in Ukraine.

In the last few years Martin has been focusing on developing church based training resources for churches in the UK and in the developing world. He has a special focus on Africa where he runs training courses in several countries.

Most recently Martin has been developing “Word Online”, a web based platform for biblical teaching, specifically designed to equip church leaders and trainers using English as a secondary language. This website went live in 2020 – see https://wordonline.org/ .

In 2021 Martin took up the offer to work with us as a content provider. Word Online will be developed further and be used on “The Well”. Martin will also be working on content for other courses planned by DECIBEL Training.
